UNIVERSITY GROUP PROJECT

Dispose

A mobile app concept integrated with Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) as part of the Ecological Citizens brief, aimed at encouraging the reuse, repair, and recycling of materials. The app incentivized sustainable behaviours by tracking user contributions, providing rewards, and offering educational content on circular economy practices, fostering long-term engagement with environmental responsibility.

USER RESEARCH

Field research by going to Tower Hamlets: borough with the lowest recycling rate in London. Interviewed local shopkeepers, café workers and bartenders about their commercial and personal recycling habits, and to see if this product we were building would actually be useful.

Initial UI Design

One of the group members was in charge of creating the user flows of the app—once those were sent over, experimentations with creating the low fidelity prototypes of the app were started.
